Sounds Poetic
An experimental noise program nestled among the magical realist art in S.C. Mero’s gallery, Something Poetic, in the Historic Core of downtown Los Angeles.
Curated from LA’s most interesting voices in new and experimental music, each program features four musicians who rarely perform together creating simultaneous long-form improvisations, usually inspired by a theme or feeling or mood. Not quite a concert, not quite an installation, Sounds Poetic is a wholly-Los Angeles sonic cauldron full of serendipity, synchronicity, and unique associations that can only be experienced in real-time. Come for a particular musician, come for the collective ensemble, come for the visual artwork, or just wander in: you might not know what you’re witnessing, but it’ll definitely sound poetic.
Sounds Poetic is presented bi-monthly. Each show is free, with donations to the gallery and performers encouraged when possible.
